Different radiation shielding above canopy was available (or absent), which is shown on the right hand side of the video. From 2017/08/03 onwards, a coiled fiber measures the temperature profile in the bottom 1.0 meters.
To facilitate easier to use DTS measurements, and to make it more standardised ‘plug & play’ DTS sensors could be developed. By using standard fibre optic connectors, these sensors can then be deployed more easily, and the measurements are more reproducable.
